Flash Cards pattern practice
Before you can decide whether to trade a pattern, you have to recognise it, quickly and without second-guessing. Flash Cards is FundedReady's recognition drill: look at a chart and choose the pattern you see. This guide explains how to use it well and how to move from recognising a shape to deciding what to do about it. It's free practice and education, not a signal.
What Flash Cards is for
Flash Cards is one of FundedReady's training modes. You look at a chart and choose the pattern you see. That's it. There's no entry to time and no trade to manage. The aim is fast, accurate recognition.
Recognition is the first step, not the whole skill. Knowing that a shape looks like a bull flag is different from knowing whether, when, and where to act on it. Flash Cards trains the first part so the chart courses can focus on the second.
Why recognition matters for evaluation prep
When the chart is moving, hesitation costs you. If it takes several seconds to decide what you're looking at, you either enter late or not at all. Quick recognition frees up attention for the decisions that matter more: confirmation, risk, and whether to skip.
FundedReady isn't a prop firm. Flash Cards doesn't simulate evaluation rules. It's a recognition drill.
How to open it
Flash Cards is listed under Training modes on the FundedReady home screen. Choose it there to start a set. It's free, with no signup or real money.
A simple way to use it
- Short sets, often. A few minutes of recognition practice works better than one long session.
- Say why, not just what. When you pick a pattern, name the feature that told you: the pole, the pause, the two lows.
- Notice your confusions. If you mix up two shapes, that's the pair to study next.
- Then take it to a chart. Recognition without decision-making is only half the job.
From recognising to deciding
Once you can name a shape quickly, open the matching chart course. Each course has five levels where simulated candles develop and you decide whether to enter, manage the trade, and get feedback. For example:
- Recognise flags quickly? Try Bull Flag Level 1 and then the Bear Flag course.
- Spot double bottoms easily? Try the Double Bottom course, where Level 5 shows a lookalike that breaks down.
- Comfortable with inside bars? The Inside Bar Breakout course practises what to do when the range breaks, or fails.
All 14 courses are free, and every level is open from the start.
Pairing it with Decision Arcade
Decision Arcade offers five-question runs across 17 skills, including one for each chart course. Where Flash Cards asks "what is this?", the Arcade asks "what would you do, and why?" Each answer comes with an explanation. Using both gives you recognition and reasoning before you spend time on chart timing.
Mistakes recognition practice can help with
- Seeing patterns everywhere. Fast recognition should include recognising when there's no clean pattern.
- Naming the shape and skipping the context. The same shape means different things in different trends.
- Overconfidence. Getting a card right doesn't mean the pattern will work. It means you saw it.

The honest limit
Recognising patterns faster is useful. It doesn't mean those patterns will be profitable to trade, and it doesn't mean you're ready for an evaluation. Use it as a first step.
