Practise Career Mode before the next evaluation fee
Single trades teach you entries. Runs of trades teach you something different: how your decisions behave when a balance is on screen and every loss matters. Career Mode is FundedReady's free account-style game. It uses a virtual $50k plus a simplified target and floor. This guide explains how to use it well. It isn't a prop firm evaluation, and it doesn't copy any firm's rules.
What Career Mode is
Career Mode is one of FundedReady's training modes. You manage a virtual $50,000 account and practise trading within loss limits. Rounds draw on setups from the chart courses, so you'll see different patterns as the run goes on. Your balance carries over from trade to trade, and the run continues until you reach the simplified target or the floor.
It's free, needs no signup, and uses no real money.
What it's good for
- Seeing how sizing adds up. One oversized loss looks small in isolation. In a run, it can change everything after it.
- Practising after a loss. The trade after a loss is where many evaluations go wrong. Career Mode gives you lots of those moments.
- Testing your own rules. Write a personal daily stop or trade limit before a run, then see whether you kept it.
What it isn't
Career Mode isn't modelled on any named firm's current rules. It doesn't simulate trailing drawdown, consistency rules, minimum days, or payouts. Reaching the target in the game doesn't mean you're ready for a paid evaluation, and it has nothing to do with funding.
How a run works
You start a run from Training modes (or the link below). Each round shows a setup on simulated candles. You choose an entry, manage the trade, and see the result. The balance updates and the next round follows. If a run ends at the floor, you get a short review built from that run's trades, which is a good starting point for deciding what to practise next.
A practice routine
- Warm up first. Five Risk architect questions in Decision Arcade, to get the sizing logic fresh.
- Write two rules. For example: "I skip any setup without a clear invalidation" and "After two losses in a row, I take a break."
- Play the run. Take each round on its own merits.
- Review one decision. Pick the trade you'd most like to change and ask why you took it.
- Practise that skill separately. If it was timing, go back to the matching chart course. If it was impulse, try the Tilt Simulator.
Pairing it with other modes
- Weekly Evaluation limits you to ten trades and resets each Monday (UTC). It's a good complement because it forces you to be selective.
- Tilt Simulator focuses on impulse control: noticing the urge to chase or win back a loss and practising standing aside.
- Chart courses let you rebuild a specific skill, like confirmation entries on Bull Flag, before your next run.

Making each run count
Treat each run as an experiment with one variable. In one run, focus only on skipping setups without a clear invalidation. In the next, focus on keeping size identical on every trade. Changing one thing at a time makes it much easier to see what actually helped.
Keep a short note after each run: the rule you tested, whether you kept it, and the trade you'd most like to replay. After a few runs, those notes are a better guide to your next practice session than the final balance.
A note on expectations
Career Mode is a game for practising decisions over several trades. A good run is encouraging. It isn't a prediction of live results or evaluation outcomes.
